What we collect

• Information you provide via our forms (name, email, phone, message, body-scan booking preferences).
• Membership and access information through GymMaster, our gym management system.
• Body composition scan data, where you choose to use the in-club scanner.
• Anonymised analytics: pages visited, device type, referring source, time on site, conversion actions.
• Server logs (IP address, request path, user-agent) for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

Why we collect it

• Respond to enquiries and bookings.
• Operate your membership, security access, and on-site services.
• Send you product, programme, or pricing updates if you opt in.
• Measure how the website performs and improve it.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Meta Pixel to measure how the site performs and how our marketing converts. These tools load for all visitors and use cookies or similar identifiers to do so. Analytics data is anonymised (IP addresses are truncated before storage) and retained for 14 months. We also use strictly-necessary cookies for things like login state. New Zealand law does not require opt-in consent for cookies; the Privacy Act 2020 requires that we tell you what we collect and why, which this page does.

If you prefer not to be tracked, you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or adjust your Meta ad preferences. The site works fully with analytics cookies blocked.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with: GymMaster (membership system), our nutrition partner Inception Nutrition only with your consent, Google Analytics and Meta for the measurement described above, Vercel (our hosting provider), and any future email-delivery vendor for transactional or opt-in mail. Each vendor processes data on our instructions only.

Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, you can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. Contact info@inceptiongym.co.nz or call 0800 INC GYM (0800 462 496). We respond within 20 working days.

Retention

Membership records are retained for the life of the membership plus seven years for tax and legal compliance. Marketing opt-ins are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymised analytics data is retained for 14 months.
